Adobe and Parikrma – A continuing partnership to help the poorest compete equally.

It was early in 2006 that Bruce Chizen and Naresh Gupta visited the Parikrma Centre for Learning at Jayanagar, Bangalore for an hour. And within the hour they had seen enough of the way children were being groomed and the programs that Parikrma was running, to want to support the entire Centre for 120 children. Since then the Centre has grown to 240 children coming from 4 different slum communities around Jayanagar, one of the fastest growing suburbs of Bangalore.

Apart from funding the Centre, Adobe has also provided Parikrma a brand new computer lab at this Centre. The children have been given access to some of the best technology which is being used to deliver top-class English education as well as to connect to the rest of the world through the internet.

For the past two years now, Adobe Systems has been helping each child in this Centre compete equally. This continuing partnership is being further strengthened by Adobe volunteers, who bring to the children much needed exposure of world that goes beyond the communities they come from.
