This Christmas, let the music make a difference!
At Parikrma, we believe music is more than just a hobby – it’s a powerful tool that inspires, educates, and heals. It’s a therapy, a necessary education. All our Centres of Learning have designated music classes, now part of the curriculum. Over the years, we have had some of the most inspiring artists and organisations, including the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SAPA) and SPIC MACAY, hold classes and sessions for our children.
Many students over the years have succeeded in pursuing music as a mainstream career, with one of our alumni even winning the Best Female Playback Singer Award in 2022.
The need for new tunes
Today, more and more students want to learn various instruments and have expressed a need for specialised training. We are committed to nurturing their passion and providing them with the best possible opportunities to succeed in their musical endeavours.
With our new Nature School and out-bound initiative, Parikrma Oxygen, where students and staff have been visiting every weekend for overnight programs, we now plan to set up a music school at the Centre.
The plan:
We want to buy good music instruments and upgrade our current centres, including launching a new music centre at Oxygen. After checking with the students on what the majority prefer and have expressed interest to learn, we have picked five key products:
