Parikrma Festival of Science 2025
This year’s festival we explore the “science of happiness”.
The Parikrma Festival of Science saw 300 children from 30 different schools at the Manipal Academy for Higher Education learn the “Science of Happiness.”
We delved into the scientific foundations of well-being. The children were treated to insightful talks on neuroscience, positive psychology, lifestyle choices, and social factors by eminent scientists, psychologists, doctors, and animal behaviour experts:

Dr Jonas S Sundarakumar: A National Board-certified Psychiatrist and accomplished researcher specialising in dementia and ageing
Dr Bhaskar Shenoy is a renowned paediatrician and expert in infectious diseases
Dr Sai Kirthi Kamati, a consultant clinical child psychologist
Sindhoor Pangal, a canine behaviour consultant, myotherapist, and independent ethology researcher, founder and director of BHARCS
Dr Nishant Srinivasaiah is an elephant biologist specialising in the behavioural ecology of Asian elephants within human-dominated landscape
Venerable Thubten Kalden is an Indian monk who received ordination from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in 2008.
Raj Mariwala is Director, MHI, Mariwala Health Initiative. Raj is a practising canine, feline behaviourist, and board member of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People.

We were honoured to have the senior architect at Synopsys, Chandrasheskar BU, come and inaugurate the Festival. This is the 11th year that Synopsys has supported us in bringing this unique Science exploration to thousands of children of all economic categories. This long-term CSR support to see excellent outcomes is uncommon, and we thank Synopsys for this partnership.
